El Paso Sunrise Rotary Club donates to Juarez’s Giving Hearts Library

The El Paso Sunrise Rotary Club presented  Juarez’s own Giving Hearts Library with a $2000 donation during a ceremony Saturday morning, in Downtown El Paso.

The library, located in Juarez Colonia Fronteriza Baja, serves approximately 125 children and teens in a neighborhood and a city where a Inside Librarydecade of violence hurt its residents.

The Giving Hearts project paired up with the El Paso Sunrise Rotary Club, the El Paso Women’s Foundation and the community to open a library for children and teenagers in a precarious neighborhood.

The funds will be used to purchase furniture, books and tablets.

Additionally, via social media, the project has already collected over 1,500 books. Along with the donation, the groups continue to gather donated books and materials.
