Chihuahuas drop final game 10 to 2; Now look toward PCL Playoffs Wednesday

The Reno Aces defeated the El Paso Chihuahuas 10-2 Monday afternoon in the regular season finale for both teams. The Chihuahuas finished their nine-game road trip 6-3.

Trailing 3-0 in the sixth inning, Cody Decker hit a high solo home run over the left field wall, his team-leading 21st homer of the season. Later in the inning Mike McCoy picked up an RBI single to left field. Reno scored seven late runs in the lopsided game, including two off Decker, who made his second career pitching appearance.

When Decker moved from left field to the mound, pitcher Jerry Sullivan went to left field for his first career appearance in a position other than pitcher.

Decker, Casey McElroy and Robert Kral had two hits each in the loss. Relievers Caleb Thielbar and Adam Cimber both pitched multiple innings without allowing a run.
