Great American Cleanup 2017 set for Saturday

The City of El Paso’s Environmental Services Department (ESD), along with numerous El Paso neighborhood associations, are partnering for the Great American Cleanup that takes place at various locations around the City starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 25.

There will be various cleanup sites located throughout El Paso, 20 of which will included large trash dumpsters where citizens can dispose of large bulky items such as mattresses, furniture or lawn trash.

The Great American Cleanup is a nationwide program that encourages individuals and organizations to get involved in their communities. Each spring, millions of residents volunteer to clean and beautify their community.

For more information on the local Great American Cleanup, including locations and times, visit the Environmental Services webpage at www.elpasotexas.gov/environmental-services or call 311.

Roll-off dumpsters will NOT be accepting the following items:

  • Tires
  • Household hazardous waste materials (paint, motor oil, and chemicals)
  • E-waste (cell phones, appliances, computers, etc.)
  • Batteries of any kind
