After 136 days in PCH NICU, Baby Austin headed home

After 136 days in the Level 4 Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at Providence Children’s Hospital, baby Austin Miramontez, finally graduated and went home with his mom and dad.

Hospital officials say his mom and dad, Abigail and Dominic Miramontez, were thrilled to see Austin get his first diploma yesterday and to finally be bringing home their first sweet baby after such a long journey and look forward to being a family of three and seeing baby Austin continue to grow.

Born on February 27, 2021, at only 24 weeks gestation, Austin was welcomed to the world only weighing in at 2lbs 2oz.

Over the last 136 days he has been building his strength and getting bigger and graduated yesterday, July 13th, from the NICU weighing in at 9lbs 9oz.
