Entry Period Open for 28th Annual Youth Poetry Contest

The El Paso Public Library is once again accepting entries for the annual Youth Poetry Contest.

Open to students in grades 1-12, the poems may be submitted in English or Spanish through January 31.

Each poem will be judged on originality, creativity, clarity, and spelling. The library will select three winners from each grade level and in each language with finalists notified via mail by March.

Winners will be invited to an awards ceremony in April with an opportunity to read their poems before an audience.  All selected poems will be published in an official poetry contest booklet.

Poems can be submitted through the Library website or at any library branch. For a complete list of rules and to download the entry form, visit the El Paso Public library website.
