51s Abduct Chihuahuas Lead Late, Down Dogs 10-7

The Las Vegas 51s scored four runs in the bottom of the eighth inning to come back and beat the El Paso Chihuahuas 10-7 in a game that saw four different lead changes. El Paso had been 51-2 this season when leading after seven innings before Monday’s late loss.

Hunter Renfroe had three extra base hits, going 3-for-5 with two doubles and a solo home run. Renfroe leads the Pacific Coast League with 255 total bases. Carlos Asuaje, Nick Torres and Miguel Del Castillo also had multi-hit games for the Chihuahuas. Relievers Keith Hessler and Derek Eitel both tossed scoreless outings for El Paso.

The Chihuahuas are in first place by 7.5 games with 34 games remaining in the regular season. Tuesday is the 13th and final game of the Chihuahuas’ longest road trip of the season.
