The El Paso Chihuahuas were held to three hits in their 5-2 loss to the Las Vegas 51s Thursday night at Southwest University Park.
Two of El Paso’s hits were home runs though, with both Patrick Kivlehan and Carlos Asuaje going deep.
Chihuahuas’ starter Dinelson Lamet allowed three earned runs in 4.2 innings in his second Triple-A start. Eric Yardley, Derek Eitel and Buddy Baumann combined for 4.1 scoreless relief innings, the 14th time this season and fifth time since August 15 that El Paso’s bullpen threw four or more scoreless innings in a game.
The Chihuahuas and 51s split their 16 meetings this season and El Paso has a 25-23 all-time series advantage. Austin Hedges, Hunter Renfroe and Manuel Margot did not start for the Chihuahuas, one night after the team clinched the Pacific Conference Southern Division title.
