Las Vegas outfielder Travis Taijeron hit an inside-the-park home run in the 51s’ 7-3 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas Wednesday night at Cashman Field.
It was the fifth inside-the-park home run against El Paso in the history of the Chihuahuas.
The Chihuahuas fell behind 6-0 early and climbed back into the game with a run in the fifth and another two in the seventh. El Paso put two runners on base with nobody out later in the seventh but the 51s’ bullpen held off the threat, getting three consecutive outs with the tying run at the plate.
Nick Buss went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple and an RBI for El Paso. Jason Jester tossed a perfect seventh inning in relief for El Paso.
The two teams have split the first two games of the series.
Next Game: Thursday, 7:05 pm at Cashman Field. El Paso LHP Dillon Overton (2-1, 5.82) vs. Las Vegas RHP Mitch Atkins (1-1, 6.10). The game will air on 600 ESPN El Paso and www.epchihuahuas.com.
