51’s Zap Chihuahuas 7-2

El Paso had a first inning lead Thursday in Las Vegas but the 51s scored the game’s next seven runs and beat the Chihuahuas 7-2. Las Vegas starter Gabriel Ynoa pitched eight innings and allowed only one run, getting a win against the Chihuahuas for the second time in 10 days.

Hunter Renfroe’s RBI single put El Paso ahead 1-0 in the first inning. The Chihuahuas had other opportunities, putting multiple runners on base in the third, fourth and sixth innings but did not score again until the ninth.

Manuel Margot went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI, while Casey McElroy and Yeison Asencio collected two hits each.

Tayron Guerrero had his second scoreless relief outing of the series and fellow reliever Keith Hessler held the 51s without a run in his Chihuahuas’ debut. Daniel McCutchen surrendered five runs in 5.2 innings and suffered his second loss of the year.
