Three Parkland High School juniors have been accepted into the NASA Johnson Space Center High School Scholars Program.
The students, Jade Hernandez, Kevin Hernandez and Priscilla Parada, completed an extensive application process and will participate in interactive lessons on NASA activities related to space exploration, earth science, technology and aeronautics.
They will work on design challenges, such as building 3D CAD modules, creating videos and designing interactive posters.
In addition, the scholars will hold briefings with NASA engineers and scientists and are invited to attend a week-long event at NASA Johnson Space Center in Houston during the summer to work on hands-on engineering activities.
They were recommended by T-STEM teachers Ms. Sandra Kneeskern, Ms. Laura Torres, and Ms. Marlene Gallegos. Congratulations to the Parkland Matador STEM scholars!
