Socorro High School will have alumni game, retire baseball jerseys

The Socorro High School baseball program, which won the state championship in 2009, will have two events on Feb. 20.

The first will be a 2:30 p.m. ceremony to honor and retire the jersey numbers of Coach Chris Forbes and Omar Quintanilla, who graduated from the school in 2000.

Following the ceremony, the third annual alumni game, featuring many former baseball players, will begin at 3 p.m. All events will be held at the Chris Forbes Field. Money raised at the events will benefit the Socorro High School baseball program.

What: Socorro High School will host its 3rd annual alumni baseball game and the retirement of former coach Chris Forbes’s and player Omar Quintanilla’s uniform numbers.
