AARP Foundation Providing Free Tax Preparation at Parks and Rec Locations Starting February 1

The AARP Foundation is offering free income tax preparation for low to moderate-income persons at various Parks and Recreation Centers from February 1 to April 12.

“Last year AARP did more than 8,000 tax returns through various locations,” said AARP Foundation Coordinator Carol Baker.

Any person, of any age, may use the service and does not need to be an AARP member. Each individual tax return usually takes volunteer tax preparers about half an hour to complete.

The free service is on a first come, first served basis so early arrival is encouraged.

Tax returns will be done by appointment and residents are encouraged to call in advance to set up an appointment. The following Parks and Recreation Centers will offer tax preparation services:
