Alamo Drafthouse Announces Kid’s Camp Movies, New Kid’s Menu, & Non-Profit Partners

Just in time for family movie-going this summer, Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Montecillo announced the rollout of its innovative new kid’s menu, which is the perfect pair for upcoming Kids Camps screenings that will benefit three local non profit organizations—Kids Excel, Segundo Barrio Futbol Club and Creative Kids.

Alamo officials say, “Food is an integral part of Alamo Drafthouse, and this new menu seeks to elevate the theatrical experience for younger patrons, too, with delicious, healthful offerings – and plenty of fun indulgences, too.”

“Kids Camp is a great opportunity for the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Montecillo to provide some fun family time complete with kid friendly meals. The best part is that they get to spend time together as they give back to their community,” added Neil Billingsley-Michaelsen, president and CEO of Triple Tap Ventures LLC, the owner and operator of the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema locations in El Paso, Houston, and Lubbock.

Kids Camp ticket proceeds from June screenings will go to Kids Excel, Proceeds from July screenings will go to the Segundo Barrio Futbol Club and proceeds from August screenings will go to Creative Kids.

Based on their feedback, the menu incorporates new flavorful and health-conscious options – entrees like Turkey Meatball Sliders and sides like Roasted Broccoli with Parmesan – along with plenty of fun and unusual treats for kids that families won’t find any place else, like the new Blueberry Pancake and Cereal milkshakes, and the Caramel Apple Fizz Soda.

The menu also features small important changes to the way food is served to make the experience more fun and easy for kids and parents alike.  And, in addition to affordable a la carte items, the new menu features a fun and simple price fix option.

For just $7, kids can “choose their own adventure” by picking one main dish, one side, and one sweet from the list of fixed price options that can all be mixed and matched.

The tiniest of Alamo fans can get a taste of these new Alamo flavors at this summer’s Kids Camp, a series of kid-friendly screenings offered from June through August. Kids Camp is an affordable way for families to watch great films together all summer long at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Montecillo.

From Charlie and the Chocolate Factory to The Neverending Story to The Karate Kid, tickets are cheap ($1 – $3) and 100 percent of ticket sales will benefit three El Paso non profit organizations. Also, you don’t have to be a kid to attend Kids Camp screenings–these screenings are open to Alamo fans of all ages. Click here for the full schedule.
