Alamo Drafthouse Cinema – East El Paso officials are inviting families to celebrate Día del Niño with short films, arts and crafts, and much more on Friday, April 30, 2021, at 5 p.m.
Friday’s event features activities for kids and a screening of EL ANGEL EN EL RELOJ, as well as a series of shorts, selected by the Mexican Consulate.
Alamo Drafthouse Cinema – East El Paso is kicking off Día del Niño with a “Magic Self-Portrait” Painting workshop with local graphic designer and illustrator Julieta Murga of the El Paso Museum of Art.
Children will also have a chance to participate in a Covid-19 Children workbooks workshop and a chance to have their faces painted on the patio
EL ANGEL EN EL RELOJ is an animated feature from director Miguel Ángel Uriegas. It tells the story of an ill who girl wishes to stop time, leading her to a transitional adventure of self-discovery and understanding about life, death and relativity.
Día del Niño is a free family event in partnership with the Mexican Consulate, El Centro Cultural Mexicano Paso del Norte, and the El Paso Museum of Art.
LLUVIA EN LOS OJOS by Rita Basulto and QUE ES LA GUERRA by Luis Beltran are just a couple of the movies that are a part of the Día del Niño short film series that will be screened the day of the event.
The film series is free but families are encouraged to purchase $5 food or beverages voucher online in advance for a reserved seat.
