Albertson’s ‘Miners Got Talent,’ ‘UTEP Sings’ Tryouts To Be Held Saturday

The second round of “Albertson’s Miners Got Talent” tryouts will be held in conjunction with the “Albertson’s UTEP Sings” National Anthem and God Bless America tryouts from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Memorial Gym on Saturday (July 21).

UTEP Athletics is on the lookout for performers for men’s and women’s basketball halftime shows and singers for the national anthem and God Bless America for the upcoming 2018-19 season.

Via a news release, UTEP Athletic officials said, “If you’ve got the talent and necessary passion, then Saturday is your chance to showcase it in front of judge and UTEP Director of Athletics, Jim Senter.”

Auditions will be held from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. There is a time limit of five minutes per contestant. Bands must provide their own equipment.  Music for dance performances must be on a USB drive.  A microphone and speakers will be provided for musical acts.

The top talents will compete during the 2018-19 men’s and women’s basketball season. A grand prize of $1,000 will be awarded to the first place winner.
