Amazon Begins hiring more than 500 full-time positions ahead of the launch of its new El Paso fulfillment center.
Employees will play integral roles within Amazon’s customer fulfillment operations and will work alongside Amazon robotics to pick, pack and ship small items to customers such as books, electronics and toys.
On top of Amazon’s minimum starting wage from $15 an hour, the company offers full-time employees comprehensive benefits including full medical, vision, and dental insurance as well as a 401(k) with 50 percent match starting on day one. The company also offers innovative benefits such as Amazon’s Career Choice program, in which the company will pay full college tuition for its front-line employees as part of a $1.2 billion investment to expand education and skills training for its U.S. workforce.
Additionally, today Amazon announced a new program called FamilyFlex, which gives employees the resources to create the right balance between home life and work life, including pregnancy and parental leave, adoption assistance, and in select roles, the ability to swap shifts and create custom schedules.
In 2021, Amazon opened over 250 new fulfillment centers, sortation centers, regional air hubs, and delivery stations in the U.S. These are investments that can unlock opportunity, helping to revitalize cities and neighborhoods.
Since the beginning of the pandemic, Amazon has hired more than 450,000 people in the U.S., and is now the largest job creator in America. Amazon was recently named by LinkedIn as the No. 1 company where Americans want to work and develop their careers.
The hiring events beginning today are by appointment only and will take place over the next several weeks at the Workforce Solutions Borderplex Center located at 8825 Northloop Drive, El Paso, TX 79907. Amazon’s Workforce Staffing will host events weekly leading up to and after the launch of the new facility later this month.
