Amid Coronavirus worries, Pet’s Barn prepared to nourish El Paso/Las Cruces pets

The Covid-19 crisis has caused a strain on the food supply at most major stores, including pet food. Even online retailers, such as Chewy and Amazon, are informing customers that they may not be able to ship pet food orders until April 1 or later.

The situation is much different at Pet’s Barn, the area’s locally-owned and operated chain of pet supply stores established in 1947.

As Pet’s Barn manufactures its own pet food in El Paso, their shelves are stocked with a ready supply of pet food.

“Our manufacturing plant is physically located here in El Paso,” said Pet’s Barn owner Dean Travis.

“We not only fulfill orders, we actually produce the pet food ourselves and have all the supplies to keep our shelves stocked every day to make sure El Paso and Las Cruces families are able to nourish their beloved pets during this season.”

With an ample supply of Pet’s Barn and Activa brand foods are available at all 12 Pet’s Barn locations in El Paso, Horizon and Las Cruces, the stores also offer a variety of ways that pet parents can purchase the food.

Pet’s Barn officials shared that they are currently offering curbside pickup and home delivery. Additionally, customers may order online or through the Activa Custom app.

“We are equipped to produce all the pet food you need and get it to your front door,” Travis added.
