It’s a life-saving duo – a team-up of heroes and pets – meant to match willing El Paso families with their new furry family member.
El Paso Animal Services is teaming up with Operation H.O.P.E, and KFOX’s Pet Pals to encourage the community to “Be A Hero, Save A Life” by coming out and adopting a shelter pet.
The Department will be waiving all adoption fees on July 14 during this one-day event in order to find forever homes for the hundreds of cats and dogs at the shelter. Operation H.O.P.E’s superheroes will also be available from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. to take photos with the “heroes” that come and adopt a pet that day.
Adopting a furry sidekick will be at no cost, and will include their spay/neuter procedure, microchip, age-appropriate vaccinations and city license.
While fees will be waived, donations of food, treats, blankets and towels are welcomed. Shelter pets will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
