Animal Services Reduces Monday Shelter Hours to Allow for Deep Cleaning

The Department of Animal Services will be reducing its operation hours on Monday, July 31, 2017, to allow for a seasonal deep cleaning of the entire shelter facility.

“This deep cleaning will allow us to declutter, sanitize, and optimize the entire shelter facility,” said Paula Powell, Interim Animal Services Director. “The cleaning will make the shelter a friendlier, safer, and more inviting place for our employees, shelter animals, and our customers.”

This Monday only, the Animal Services Shelter will be open to the public from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.; the reduced hours allows staff to perform the deep cleaning of the facility.

In addition to the daily cleaning and sanitizing, this deep cleaning will allow for the staff to declutter and organize common areas and work spaces. These types of deep cleaning events will now take place throughout the year at the Animal Services Shelter.

The animal shelter will resume normal operation hours on Tuesday, August 1, 2017. The shelter is normally open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., seven days a week.
