Animal Services Shelter needs Community’s Help to Make Mosaic Mural a Reality

The Department of Animal Services is happy to announce an upcoming art workshop that will support the creation of a mosaic mural by local artists Katie Gelinas and Terry Wright.

The mosaic, titled “New Day Dawning,” will be located at the Animal Services Shelter and is intended to create a friendly and inviting atmosphere for guests. The large mosaic piece will welcome potential adopters to the shelter as they enter the outdoor kennel area and play yard.

The community’s help is needed to paint the more than a hundred tiles that will be used to make this mosaic a reality. The workshop will allow the community to be directly involved in the creation of the mosaic, giving it a personal touch.

This mosaic is made possible through the Museum and Cultural Affairs Department’s Community Arts Program.
