Annie’s Adventures: My El Paso Christmas…

‘Tis the season for tamales, abuelita hot cocoa, posadas, Christmas Light drives, and shopping, lots and lots of shopping. While you are out and about, I’d like to recommend a few tips on how to enjoy the holidays in El Paso and perhaps even how to save a few bucks.

My favorite spots to grab tamales (I prefer the sweet tamales surprise surprise) are as follows; Pepe’s, Gussie’s, and Bowie Bakery. Remember, it’s all about the pre-ordering.

Have a party to attend and need something sweet to take or maybe just something to sweeten your own families day? Here are some local joints you can swing by and grab some holiday Sweets; Belle Sucre, Fudge-N-More, Bake Me Happy, The Masters Place, Tasty Donut Cafe, International Bakery, Pastry Chef, Peters German  Grill & Bakery, Glamour Sweets, Orange Peel, Manjar, Sweet Corner,  & The Sweet Shop

In need of sneaking out of your casa with the cousins and your friends?  Hit up these local breweries, DeadBech Brewery & Ode Brewing. Always a good time with people you love.

In the holiday spirit for some Christmas light drives then try Eastridge, Austin Terrace,Fred Loya House of course, Ascarate Park, or the Downtown El Paso Lights.

Sometimes you just want to test your flexibility, for this I recommend ice skating at the Fountain of Farrah, Sierra Providence Event Center, El Paso Event Center Skating Rink.

If you don’t feel like moving too much and are just in the mood to relax you can warm up at these awesome local coffee shops, Joe Vinny & Bronsons, Coffee Box, Tradecraft, & Eloise.

Do you have friends and family coming in town to celebrate or simply need to grab a bite to eat while out shopping? Here are some suggestions for local human fuel stations, Rulis’ International Kitchen, The Pizza Joint, Papa Pita, KiKi’s, L & J Cafe, Monteleone’s, Tacoholics inside Funkmeyer Rec Room, Chuco Burger,  Shang Song Chinese,  Zino’s, & German Pub. All great places to grab quick, good food.

Trying to book your holiday office party or family get together you say? Here are some local suggestions for your parties- Pelican’s, Tortugas Sports Lounge, Rulis’ International Kitchen, & Hoppy Monk Events – @ Anniesadventuresep.comunder Event by Flyer.

Gift wrapping can be a pain, this I know. I also know I am spreading the “shop local cheer” this holiday but I don’t know anyone who makes wrapping paper lol. I ALWAYS buy my gift wrapping for any occasion, especially the holidays at the Dollar Tree. I mean, It’s just gonna end up in the trash anyways lol. Save some money and shop smarter not harder.
