For the fifth year in a row, the sidewalks around the Jalisco Cafe will once again be lined with tables of books on July 4th.
Hector Chavez, proprietor of the Jalisco Cafe has partnered with Books Santo Nino, El Paso’s non profit to bring this event to the Segundo Barrio.
Books Santo Nino is a group of El Paso book lovers who love and want to share the printed word.
Organizers share that the free book event is for children and adults, and the range of books includes fiction, non fiction, autobiographies, history, fantasy, and many more.
The gently used books will be set out for browsing and selection, with no limit as to the number of books that visitors can take.
In addition to the free books, the Jalisco Cafe will once again provide complimentary raspas from the “Raspa Patrol,” as well as free American flags to the first 100 kids in attendance.
Organizers add that this is one of several book giveaways that will be held throughout Southern New Mexico & Texas and they invite local to participate in upcoming book giveaways.
