Annual Sun Bowl Art Exhibit Set to Open Thursday, Will Run Through January

Once again the International Museum of Art will be playing host to the the annual Sun Bowl Art Exhibit.

In addition to the opening of the exhibit, awards will be presented by the Sun Bowl Association Executive Director during the night’s festivities.

Sun Bowl officials say, “This is a great opportunity to showcase the great artists that are in El Paso. ” Admission to the event, and the exhibit is free.

The Sun Bowl is the Southwest’s longest running art exhibit. Originally dubbed the Sun Carnival Art Exhibit at its inception in 1949, the International Museum of Art continues the long El Paso tradition of the integration of artistic and athletic excellence.

The exhibit will run from November through January.

The event starts at 5 p.m. with refreshments and hors d’oeuvres being served.  The awards ceremony starts at 6 p.m.

Time: 5-7 p.m.

Place: International Museum of Art, 1211 Montana Street
