Art Coffee, a local Facebook Group that meets in coffeehouses and artist spaces, will be hosting William “Bill” Moreno, curator, writer, art advisor and director of William Moreno Contemporary Tuesday evening.
This month’s guest, Bill Moreno, was founding executive director of the Claremont Museum of Art, Los Angeles and also served as executive director of the Mexican Museum in San Francisco. He was previously the director of a contemporary art gallery in Silicon Valley.
He has been a featured speaker at the Commonwealth Club and American Institute of Architecture and has appeared on KCET’s series California’s Gold hosted by Huell Howser, as well as other television and radio shows.
He has served on a number of portfolio review panels including the City of Los Angeles (C.O.L.A.) Individual Artist Fellowships, California Community Foundation Mid-Career Fellows, PhotoAlliance and others. He has been a frequent panelist speaking on contemporary art practices and topics.
Moreno is a creative and visionary museum professional well-versed in the contemporary arts and museum management practices, nonprofit institutional, capital development and fundraising, strategic planning, program development, marketing and human resources.
He also works with artists, collectors and others, whether a work “crit” or advising on a career direction. He is an advisory board committee member for the California Association of Museums and served as Board President, Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions (LACE).
Art Coffee works to bring people together to talk about art and art issues; as well as to share information about exhibits and opportunities.
