Artist duo The Swell Kids released their long-awaited debut, full-length album GOOD PROBLEMS: A Collection of Feelings on Tuesday.
“This album is a reflection of what we have experienced transitioning from DJ’s to artists,” said The Swell Kids member Alexander Bejarano.
“The producing process was fun to see an idea come to life by starting something from scratch,” said The Swell Kids member Eddie Vasquez. “We had patience and were able to meet the sound we wanted.”
“Listeners can expect to hear our growth and experience us in different genres.” “We want to stay away from the idea of having a certain sound and keeping a certain sound. We are going to continue to experiment in our sound as long as we’re happy with the finished product. It’s always something new and this project is exactly that—a glimpse at what inspires us.”
The album consists of nine tracks, each representing a different emotion based on the artists’ personal experiences. Some tracks are upbeat and feature a fast tempo to represent the exciting times in their lives and some are slower and more melancholy to represent the lower points in their experience.
The Swell Kids are aiming for the end of November for their next local show at The Lowbrow Palace.
The young producers have experience performing with renowned artists in front of well-sized crowds. They recently opened for Cut Copy on Oct. 3 at Tricky Falls.
In the last year, The Swell Kids have played at The Lowbrow, Tricky Falls, at Neon Desert Music Festival, Village Vibes music festival and other events.
