Ascarate Elementary Robotics Team Takes 1st Place at ABQ Competition

The 6th grade robotic team from Ascarate Elementary School earned 1st place in the “A-MAZE-ing” category at the RoboRave USA competition.

Team members are Robert Reyes, Josiaha Medina, Angel Chavez and Manuel Quiñones.

RoboRAVE (Robots Are Very Educational) International aims to make robotics accessible to children.  The organization’s motto is “Today’s Play, Tomorrow’s Pay” and their three goals are Fun while Learning, Sharing, and Teamwork.

During the “a-MAZE-ing” competition, the goal is to design, build and program a robot capable of completing an elevated maze in 2 minutes or less. The faster the team completes the task increases the overall score.

The RoboRave USA was held in Albuquerque, NM in May.
