Award-winning regional Mexican music singer Julión Álvarez y Su Norteño Banda will stop at the El Paso County Coliseum, 4100 E. Paisano, at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 23, to close out his incredibly popular “Mis Ídolos, Hoy Mis Amigos” (“My Idols … Today My Friends”) tour across the United States. Special guests will include singers Pancho Barraza and El Coyote.
The nearly three-hour entertaining set has sold out in several cities on the tour, including Chicago, Dallas, San Jose, Los Angeles and others. It is making history as the first regional Mexican arena tour of its kind, according to the promoters, earning Álvarez the name, “El Rey de la Taquilla” (“The King of the Box Office”).
Álvarez is a multi-Latin Grammy Award nominee, who hit the No. 1 spot for the third time on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart earlier this year with his release “Mis Ídolos, Hoy Mis Amigos.”
Also this year, he was nominated for an amazing six Billboard Latin Music Awards for Regional Mexican Album of the Year, Hot Latin Songs Artist of the Year (Duo or Group), Regional Mexican Songs Artist of the Year (Duo or Group), Top Latin Albums Artist of the Year (Duo or Group) and Regional Mexican Song of the Year, eventually winning for Regional Mexican Albums Artist of the Year (Duo or Group).
The 33-year-old Chiapas, Mexico, native has earned six Gold Albums, two Platinum Albums and one Double-Platinum Album.
Tickets are $52, $82, $102 and $128, and are available at the El Paso County Coliseum Box. Office, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 800-745-3000 and online.
