Sin Bandera, made up of Leonel García and Noel Schajris, became hugely popular after its award-winning self-titled debut album was released in 2002. The name, which means “Without a Flag,” was created to bring awareness to world unity.
Sin Bandera hit the music scene behind the hit “Entra En Mi Vida” (“Come Into My Life”), the first single written by the Mexican duo that was later used as the theme song for the popular Mexican telenovela “Cuando Seas Mía” (“When You’re Mine”).
“Kilómetros” (“Kilometers”) and “Sirena” (“Mermaid”) also became favorites among the many fans of Sin Bandera, whose success extends across Mexico, Spain, Argentina, Costa Rica, the United States and many other countries around the world.
Sin Bandera recently earned a Latin Grammy Award nomination for Song of the Year for its hit tune “En Ésta No” (“Not In This”), after having won Best Pop Album of the Year by a Duo or Group in 2002 for “De Viaje” (“Traveling”) and another in 2004 with “Sin Bandera.”
The duo also has been nominated for several Billboard Latin Music Awards and Premio Lo Nuestro Awards, as well as a Grammy Award.
