The II Binational Pro Family, Pro Life Conference hosted in El Paso by the Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of El Paso, Mark Seitz, with the participation of the Las Cruces Catholic Diocese, Bishop Oscar Cantu. Hosting the Conference in Cd. Juarez is Catholic Diocese Bishop José Guadalupe Torres Campos is set for this Saturday.
The event will be happening simultaneously in El Paso and in Ciudad Juarez this upcoming April 29 from 8am to 7pm. In El Paso, it will be held at Canutillo High School, and in Cd. Juárez at The Centro de Convenciones Cibeles and Gimnasio Colegio de Bachilleres.
The congress in El Paso was also selected by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops, as their 5th National Hispanic Congress of America for Respect Life and Evangelization and will have USCCB representatives as special guests. The event organized by the Marriage & Family Life and Reverence for Life Ministries of the Diocese of El Paso, in conjunction with the Binational Pro-Family Pro-Life Committees on both sides of the border.
Officials say the goals of the Congress are to “celebrate the gift of life, promote a culture of love and family values; as well as to inform the community about resources available in our region in support of life and family.”
Additionally the US Apostolic Papal Nuncio, His Excellency Christophe Pierre will also be the keynote speaker in El Paso. the Congress is also featuring international level speakers.
For El Paso, the speakers are Matt Fradd, Stephanie Gray, Alejandro Bermudez, Adolfo Castaneda, Father Ernesto Maria Caro, and Alejandro Aguilera-Titus as a special guest.
As presenters will be visiting both sides of the border, speakers for Ciudad Juarez will feature Alejandro Castaneda and Father Ernesto Maria Caro; Father Angel Espinosa de los Monteros, Juan Dabdoub, Rafael Becerra Gonzalez and Cecilia Rodriguez Galvan.
The format will include general sessions, as well as talks directed to adults and the youth (14-20) in different settings; in addition to breakout sessions, workshops and music. Sponsoring restaurants and approved food vendors will be on site for conference attendees.
