BIO El Paso-Juarez Announces Keynote Speaker for Annual Summit on Medical Devices

This week, officials with BIO El Paso- Juarez announced Fernando Oliveros, Vice President and General Manager of Medtronic Mexico, as the keynote speaker for the El Paso/Juarez Medical Device Summit.

“Mr. Oliveros’ visit to El Paso/Juarez is an opportunity for our region to showcase its strengths and the benefits of manufacturing medical devices here,” said Emma Schwartz, CEO of BIO El Paso-Juarez.  “Mr. Oliveros has a wealth of knowledge on medical device development and manufacturing as well as healthcare in Mexico.  I am thrilled for him to share with us his thoughts on the future of medical devices from his perspective at Medtronic.”

The summit is set for January 31, 2019 at the El Paso Convention Center.  The topic of Oliveros’ keynote speech is “Collaboration and Innovation as Drivers of Healthcare Improvement in Mexico”.

Oliveros has over 19 years of experience in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Device Industry. He graduated from UIA with a degree in Chemical Engineering and holds an MBA from IPADE. He has worked around the world including Mexico, Latin America and Europe, across different areas such as general management, sales, marketing, strategic planning, operations and process excellence.

Medtronic is a global leader in medical technology, services and solutions with total revenue of $30 billion and a global workforce of over 84,000 employees.  Medtronic operates a large medical device manufacturing facility in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico.
