Tuesday morning, officials with the Borderplex Alliance, the region’s private sector-led economic development and policy advocacy organization, announced the launch of The Borderplex 2025 Ascend Strategic Plan.
Officials share that the Ascend Plan sharpens and re-focuses The Borderplex Alliance’s strategy to create a more prosperous, dynamic, and competitive region.
“Thorough, ambitious, and achievable, experience tells me that Ascend is the roadmap for further job creation,” said Jon Barela, CEO of The Borderplex Alliance.
In a binational survey conducted, respondents were asked to choose their top priorities that they think are most important for economic development. Officials share that the 2025 Ascend Plan addresses each priority.
Top 5 Economic Development Priorities:
1) Business attraction, retention and expansion
2) New business creation
3) International trade promotion
4) Increasing wages
5) Improving the quality of life
Barela continues: “Natalie Littlefield, VP of strategy and our team queried the best minds and evidenced-based strategies to create a bespoke plan suited to our unique region. I want to thank our team, investors, and all the many talented business leaders who took the time to comment, give feedback, and share their ideas on our new strategic plan.”
The Borderplex 2025 Ascend Strategic Plan comes on the heels of what’s shaping up to be the region’s most successful year for economic development since The Borderplex Alliance’s founding in 2013.
