C.A.R.E Coalition to host Carpool Cinema at County Coliseum in Honor of Black History Month

To honor Black History Month, the C.A.R.E. Coalition will be hosting a carpool cinema at the El Paso Country Coliseum later this month.

According to organizers, the C.A.R.E. Coalition is a “new advocacy group run by local black, indigenous, and people of color (BIPOC) women.”

In addition to celebrating Black History Month, the C.A.R.E. Coalition officials say they are hosting this event to provide community aid and domestic violence awareness.

“[The group] is showing The Hate U Give (2018) and Us (2019); two films starring Black actors, created and written by Black people,” organizers shared via a news release.

Showtime for The Hate U Give is Saturday, February 27th at 7:00pm, with ‘Us’ following at 10:00 pm.

Ticket prices start at $25 per vehicle general admission and $30 for VIP Parking (First two rows). Ticket is per movie. Tickets can be purchased online, or the same day of show at Coliseum Box Office.  Food trucks will be selling food and beverages during the shows.

A portion of the proceeds of this event will go towards Dame La Mano, a Crisis Pregnancy Center; Reynold’s Home, a homeless women’s and children’s center; and Villa Maria a single women’s transition home.

All three groups will address the audience ten minutes before showtime and host booths throughout the show for anyone looking to gather more information on the resources they provide.
