Guadalupe Montanez is a longtime educator ready to take on her latest role with vigor and passion to continue making a difference and achieving the goal of student achievement on the Deanna Davenport Elementary (DDE) School campus.
She was named principal of DDE where she currently serves as assistant principal since 2018. Montanez will officially take the helm as of July 1.
“Great Leaders don’t set out to be a leader, they set out to make a difference. It’s never about the role – always about the goal.”
This is one quote that Montanez takes to heart and as the new campus leader she wants to keep making a difference.
“I look forward to this new opportunity to lead Deanna Davenport Elementary School as their principal. I truly believe that leadership is based upon trust, communication, equality and absolute transparency in every way,” Montanez said.
Montanez has over 20 years of experience in education and has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a bilingual education certification from The University of Texas at El Paso and a master’s degree in education administration from Sul Ross State University. She began her teaching career with the Canutillo Independent School District in 2003 and has served the district over the years as a teacher, instructional coordinator, and assistant principal.
