On Wednesday, officials with the El Paso County Coliseum released details on award-winning rapper Cardi B’s concert in the Sun City.
The artist, who made history this year as the first female solo artist to win a Grammy Award for Best Rap Album, will perform at 7 p.m. Tuesday, May 21, at the El Paso County Coliseum located at 4100 E. Paisano, promoters announced.
Born Belacalis Marlenis Almánzar in the Bronx in 1992, Cardi B burst onto the entertainment scene in 2015 as a cast member of the reality TV series, “Love & Hip Hop: New York,” where she was considered the breakout star.
After two seasons, the 26-year-old rapper left to pursue a music career. In 2017, she released her smash debut single, “Bodak Yellow,” which reached the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, followed by “Money.”
In 2018, Cardi B released her debut studio album, “Invasion of Privacy,” which featured hit songs such as “Bartier Cardi,” “Be Careful,” Ring” and the current chart-topper, “I Like It.” Her latest hit singles include “Girls Like You” with Maroon 5 and “Please Me” with Bruno Mars.
Cardi B has won and been nominated for several awards, including the MTV Video Music Awards, BET Awards, Billboard Music Awards, American Music Awards, Soul Train Awards, Lo Nuestro Awards, iHeartRadio Music Awards, and so many more. She has been nominated for seven Grammy Awards, finally snagging the statue for “Invasion of Privacy” in February.
