The El Paso Center for Children celebrated the opening of its Family Resource Center Friday, February  18, 2022 on its campus at 2120 N. Stevens St. in Central El Paso.

This service is designed to offer parent and youth education, a resource library, access to counseling,  basic needs support, and training or activities hosted by partnering agencies. El Paso families who have  children up to 18 years old are eligible and all services are provided free of charge.

More than 100 guests, including dozens of partners, stakeholders, and contributors participated in the  Open House. Notable attendees included:

  • David Stout, County Commissioner Precinct 2
  • Sasha Rasco, Chief Prevention and Community Wellbeing Officer for the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services
  • Alderete Middle School National Junior Honor Society

“We are so excited about the toddler play area, the chance to have coffee with and get to know our families better, and the easy access to our counseling and other programs,“ said Ms. Senger. “Families work so hard to provide for and keep their children safe. It’s our privilege to partner with families and work with them based on their unique needs.” Alderete Middle School National Junior Honor Society  embodied the spirit of this new space by conducting a substantial food drive and delivering dozens of  bags of groceries to give to families seeking support.
