UTEP senior Cheyenne Jones and junior Paulina Perez Rosas were voted to the 11-member Conference USA Volleyball All-Academic team, the league office announced on Tuesday.
In the classroom, Jones is a three-time C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Medalist, while sporting a 3.82 GPA this season. She has also been named to the C-USA Commissioner’s Academic Honor Roll three times.
Jones will be graduating with a degree in international business in the fall.
Jones is leading the team with 3.48 points per set and 3.18 kills per set – seventh best in C-USA – in 44 sets played this season. Jones has been named C-USA Offensive Player of the Week once this season for her 16 and 10-kill performances versus UAB (Feb. 16).
Pérez Rosas, who is studying kinesiology, was the only Miner to record a 4.00 GPA this season. Pérez Rosas has a team-best five double-doubles, leads all outside hitters with 2.55 digs/set and a .981 reception percentage and is third on the team in kills with 127.
