The El Paso Chihuahuas collected 18 hits in their 11-4 win over the Albuquerque Isotopes Tuesday night at Isotopes Park. Michael Kelly was the winning pitcher and in the process became the first Chihuahuas’ hurler to win his first four starts with El Paso.
Down 1-0 in the third, Carlos Asuaje hit a two-run home run over the right field fence, his first longball since May 13 at Las Vegas. Asuaje has five homers this season, with all of them coming on the road.
Auston Bousfield went 3-for-4 with three RBIs Tuesday, his 23rd birthday. Hunter Renfroe had two hits and an RBI, his 73rd of the season in only 81 games played. Hector Sanchez and Nick Noonan also had multiple hits in the win.
Rockies’ pitching prospect Jeff Hoffman, who beat the Chihuahuas on June 14, allowed eight earned runs in 4.2 innings in the loss. The Chihuahuas and Isotopes have now split the first six matchups between the two teams.
