Christian Villanueva hit a two-out, tiebreaking three-run home run in the top of the 10th inning in the El Paso Chihuahuas’ 11-7 win Tuesday night in Fresno.
It moved El Paso’s extra inning record to 2-2, with all four of the extra-inning games lasting 10 innings. The Chihuahuas and Grizzlies split the four-game series.
Hector Sanchez hit two home runs and drove in four in a 4-for-6 night. It was the fourth multi-home run game in a Chihuahuas uniform for Sanchez, who had three different two-homer games for El Paso in 2016. Fellow rehabbing San Diego Padre Manuel Margot started in center field and went 2-for-4 with two RBIs.
Tony Cruz had four hits in the win for El Paso.
The Chihuahuas scored first Tuesday and now have a 22-8 record when scoring before their opponent. El Paso had 18 hits Tuesday, the secondtime in three games the Chihuahuas’ lineup reached 18 hits.
The Chihuahuas do not play on Wednesday.
