File – El Paso notched its’ sixth win in its last seven games and 10th victory in its last 14 tries. The Chihuahuas have a .500 record for the first time since July 26.
Rocky Gale’s RBI double in the top of the 10th inning helped the El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Salt Lake Bees 5-4 Wednesday night. It was El Paso’s first extra-inning win of the season.
Gale also caught two Bees trying to steal for the second consecutive game, including the potential tying run in the bottom of the 10th on Wednesday.
Nick Buss went 2-for-4 with his second home run in as many games. Chihuahuas starter Bryan Rodriguez allowed two earned runs in 5.2 innings in his return from Double-A. Phil Maton earned the win after tossing a scoreless ninth and tenth inning.
The Chihuahuas have taken the first two games of their eight-game road swing.
Salt Lake used three pitchers in the first three innings, as Los Angeles Angels Mike Morin and Huston Street pitched an inning each on injury rehab at the beginning of the game.
