The Tacoma Rainiers turned four double plays in their 7-2 win over the El Paso Chihuahuas Monday night.
Chihuahuas designated hitter Jose Azocar went 1-for-4 with a triple, his eighth triple of the season. Azocar’s eight triples are the most in Triple-A baseball and he’s played in only 38 Triple-A games.
Gosuke Katoh went 2-for-4 with a double in the loss for El Paso.
El Paso reliever Jose Quezada struck out two in his third scoreless appearance of the series. Robbie Podorsky was activated from the Injured List prior to the game and played five innings in left field. It was Podorsky’s first game since July 29.
Tacoma has won four of the first five games of the series.
