Chihuahuas Overwhelm Aces 13-4; Cordero goes 4-for-4

The El Paso Chihuahuas scored multiple runs in their in each of their final five innings Friday and beat the Reno Aces 13-4 at Southwest University Park. The win moved El Paso to 4-4 this season against the Aces.

Chihuahuas first baseman Christian Villanueva went 3-for-5 with two home runs and three RBIs. It was his second straight two homer game. Villanueva has six home runs on the current five-game homestand. El Paso struck four homers to tie a season high.

All eight Chihuahuas position players got at least one hit, as El Paso compiled 17 hits in the win.

Franchy Cordero started the game 4-for-4 in his return to the El Paso lineup and had a chance for his second five-hit game of the season but flew out to left field in his fifth at bat.

Next Game: Saturday, 7:05 pm at Southwest University Park. Reno LHP Erik Jokish (6-3, 5.25) vs. El Paso RHP Bryan Rodriguez (1-6, 6.07). The game will air on 600 ESPN El Paso and www.epchihuahuas.com.
