Chihuahuas rally to beat Reno 12-7
The El Paso Chihuahuas trailed 6-1 in the sixth inning Saturday before coming back to win 12-7, their second straight comeback victory over the Reno Aces.
The Chihuahuas’ six-run sixth was their highest-scoring inning of the season. Jose Pirela went 3-for-4 with a walk and has reached base in six of his last seven plate appearances.
Michael Gettys went 3-for-5, falling a double shy of a cycle. Esteban Quiroz had two hits and two walks atop the El Paso order.
El Paso’s four home runs (Seth Mejias-Brean, Jacob Scavuzzo, Gettys and Jason Vosler) also established a 2019 single-game team high.
El Paso has won three consecutive games.
