The El Paso Chihuahuas started their series in Sacramento with a 7-3 victory over the River Cats Monday night at Raley Field.
It was El Paso’s fourth consecutive win, tying the Chihuahuas longest winning streak mark of 2017 and setting a new season high for longest road winning streak.
Bryan Rodriguez had his second consecutive strong start, allowing three earned runs in 6.2 innings. It was the fourth game in a row El Paso’s starter pitched into the sixth inning or later and allowed three runs or less. Rafael Ortega went 3-for-5 with an RBI in the win.
Rocky Gale had two RBI singles Monday and has three RBI hits in his last two games.
The Chihuahuas have won seven of their last eight games. El Paso is above .500 for the first time since April 13, when the club was 4-3.
