Chihuahuas Tame Cubs 4-2

The El Paso Chihuahuas beat the Iowa Cubs 4-2 Saturday for their second straight win and fourth victory in their last six tries.

Chihuahuas starter Dillon Overton allowed one earned run in seven innings and has pitched five innings or more with two earned runs or less allowed in his last four starts. Overton has surrendered only one earned run in his last 14 innings.

Luis Urias went 2-for-5 and has reached base six times in nine plate appearances this series.

Javy Guerra went 3-for-5, falling a triple shy of a cycle in his first three-hit game for El Paso. Iowa manager Marty Pevey was ejected in the top of the first inning after an argument over a close pitch to Auston Bousfield.

Allen Craig went 1-for-1 with a pinch-hit single, extending his hitting streak to seven games.
