Chihuahuas and Townsquare Media Extend Partnership

The El Paso Chihuahuas are proud to announce that the team has extended its agreement with Townsquare Media to broadcast all Chihuahuas’ regular and post-season playoff games on KROD 600 AM ESPN. The partnership, which includes home and away games, extends through the 2019 campaign.

“We are proud to continue our very successful relationship with Townsquare and KROD 600 AM ESPN,” said MountainStar Sports Group President Alan Ledford. “Chihuahuas fans can listen to Tim Hagerty and follow all Chihuahuas games at Southwest University Park and throughout the Borderplex.  We’re thrilled to be working with Brad Dubow, Steve Kaplowitz, and the entire Townsquare team to bring the best in Triple-A Baseball to our fans for each and every regular and post-season game.”

“Townsquare and KROD 600 AM ESPN continue to be great partners and ambassadors for the Chihuahuas, said El Paso Chihuahuas Vice President and General Manager Brad Taylor. “They have a sincere interest in helping us expand the Chihuahuas’ footprint.”

“Everyone here at 600 ESPN is excited to be working with the El Paso Chihuahuas for another three years as we look forward to our continued partnership with this championship organization,” said Brad Dubow, Townsquare Media El Paso general manager. “The team at Townsquare Media of El Paso, is the market leader in broadcast ratings, digital reach, and community events – including the El Paso Downtown Street Festival; the Sun City Bacon Festival (Baconfest), A Taste of El Paso; Cool Canyon Nights; and several more. With this three-year extension, baseball fans can tune to 600 AM and our on-line stream at 600espnelpaso.com for complete El Paso Chihuahua coverage.”

The three-year extension builds on a relationship between the Chihuahuas and 600 AM ESPN that began prior to the 2014 inaugural campaign and ran through the 2016 Pacific Coast League Championship in September.

The Chihuahuas’ play-by-play announcer Tim Hagerty will return for his 14th season in Minor League Baseball and will call the games on the flagship station. All game broadcasts will be streamed on epchihuahuas.com, krod.com and the TuneIn app.

Townsquare Media El Paso consists of KROD 600 AM ESPN, 95.5 FM KLAQ, 93.1 FM KSII, and KLAQ HD2, 95.5-1 on the expanded dial.  The stations are locally programmed from the offices and studios located at 4180 North Mesa, and can be reached at 915-544-9550.

The Chihuahuas Opening Day is Thursday, April 6 versus the Las Vegas 51s (New York Mets), the start of a five game homestand. Season Seats, Paw-tial Plans, and Baseball 2 Business plans are on sale now. The Chihuahuas are also accepting group and hospitality reservations.

  • That’s good news of the El Paso Chihuahuas and Townsquare Media extending their partnership as I happen to have a subscription to all Chihuahua games on MLB live streaming.KROD 600 ESPN can be hardly heard on radio due to all the dozens Mexican Radio Stations clustered around the 600 dial signal mark. Most of the Mexican radio stations are way more powerful than KROD is part of the problem.
If Fear The Ears is listening! why is the playing ball field at Southwest University Park already messed up? It’s only going to be the fourth season for the El Paso Chihuahuas and the new stadium playing field is ruined.
Look at Isotope Park in Albuquerque, their field looks majestically perfectly manicure for baseball only stadium.
Southwest University Park already has wear and tear but not by from playing baseball games. The stadium is also used for soccer games, concerts, campouts that is why we need a downtown arena now!
And keep the soccer games over at Benito Juarez Stadium a stadium that was designed and built for playing Soccer Only.
