Franchy Cordero hit rolling infield single with the bases loaded and two outs in the 10th inning to give the El Paso Chihuahuas a 6-5 win over the Reno Aces Monday night.
It was El Paso’s first walk-off win of the season and improved the Chihuahuas’ extra-inning record to 4-2.
The Chihuahuas rallied for four runs on five hits in the bottom of the fifth inning, with four of the hits going for extra bases. The inning included back-to-back home runs from Jabari Blash and Diego Goris, the Chihuahuas first set of back-to-back homers since June 19.
El Paso led 5-3 until single Reno tallies in the seventh and ninth tied the game.
It was an offensive game all around, as both teams had double digit hits before making their first out in the sixth inning.
Cordero went 4-for-6 and has multiple hits in four of his five games since being optioned from San Diego. The Chihuahuas split the four game series with Reno.
Next Game: Tuesday, 7:05 pm at Cashman Field. El Paso RHP Adam Cimber (1-0, 4.56) vs. Las Vegas RHP Ricky Knapp (3-9, 6.16). The game will air on 600 ESPN El Paso and www.epchihuahuas.com.
