City Announces Community Development Block Grant Community Meetings

City Announces Community Development Block Grant Community Meetings

The City of El Paso Department of Community and Human Development is receiving approximately $3.3 million in Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds during the 44th CDBG Program Year (2018-2019).

District 2 and District 4 will each be allocated approximately $1.4 million and another $500,000 will be available for citywide projects.

A community meeting will be held in Districts 2 and 4 and an additional meeting will be held for citywide projects. The meetings will allow community input on how the funds should be allocated, and information on the CDBG process and funding opportunities.

These meetings will also provide an opportunity for the community to propose projects to be considered for CDBG funding and suggestions on how the department can improve their neighborhoods.

CDBG funds can be used for a variety of projects including recreation centers, senior centers, medical clinics, street and drainage improvements, library enhancements, parks and other public facility improvements.
