El Paso Animal Services is partnering with the BISSELL Pet Foundation to host a five-day “Empty the Shelters” adoption event beginning Wednesday, July 7 and running through Sunday, July 11.
“This invaluable partnership with the BISSELL Pet Foundation has enhanced El Paso Animal Services’ abilities to serve our shelter pets, first with the mega rescue transport, and now through the ‘Empty the Shelters’ event,” said Ramon Herrera, Animal Services Interim Director. “We’ve accomplished so much together already, and both organizations are committed to providing more opportunities and services to El Paso’s pets.”
El Paso Animal Services recently partnered with the BISSELL Pet Foundation to host the largest pet rescue transport in El Paso history, and is thrilled to once again partner with the foundation.
“BISSELL Pet Foundation’s ‘Empty the Shelters’ events have become a valuable tool for our shelter partners to find loving families for their pets,” said Cathy Bissell, Founder of BISSELL Pet Foundation. “We are excited to have 40 states – the most ever – represented in our July event. Thousands of pets across the country will find forever homes, and that’s what it’s all about.”
Animal Service officials remind the community that their involvement is important, especially with the upcoming challenges that the summer months will bring.
“To support the City’s lifesaving mission, the community can get involved by adopting, fostering, volunteering, and donating, as well as ensuring all owned pets are up to date on their vaccinations, have a microchip and are spayed or neutered,” officials added.
