The City of El Paso Museum and Cultural Affairs and Department (MCAD) is hosting several community meetings to discuss and seek input about a public art piece commemorating the memory of the victims of the August 3, 2019, mass shooting.
Located at Ponder Park, the memorial will honor victims, their families, and the resilience of the community. The meetings will be held virtually and in-person.
The first of several meetings will be held at the following locations:
- February 9 at 6 p.m.
Eastside Senior Center
3200 Fierro Dr.
- February 16 at 6 p.m.
Marty Robbins Recreation Center
11620 Vista Del Sol
The public art piece is funded by the City’s Public Art Program that is funded through an ordinance requiring 2 percent of every capital improvement project budget within the City be used for original art.
