City of El Paso extends hours for Uptown District Parking Meters

City officials announced Thursday afternoon that the parking meters in the Uptown District will be extended beginning next week.

Officials say that the extension is to help cover costs and invest in the security and operations of the immediate area. Parking meters located in the Uptown District will be extended by three (3) hours beginning June 14, 2021.

The current hours for parking meters in the Uptown District are 8 a.m. to midnight Monday through Saturday. The new extended hours will be from 8 a.m. to 3 a.m. the following day. Hours of operations for businesses located in the Uptown District will not be affected.

The City will utilize 100 percent of the revenues from the extended hours to re-invest in the area and help cover security costs.

There are currently 113 meters in the Uptown District. Metered parking is $1 per hour and the meters accept the following payment options: quarters, dollar coins, credit cards and Park 915 payments (pay by cell app), available in the  Apple Store or Google Play.

Payment for parking meters is not required on Sundays or official City Holidays.
